Enrolment:

We strongly encourage you to come and visit our friendly centre to meet our wonderful teachers and see for yourself the environment that we have built for our children. After visiting our centre and meeting our great team we are sure you will want to enrol your child. Our information pack has all of the details and forms you need to book a place at our preschool.

Adjusting to preschool:

We encourage all new parents and caregivers to visit our centre with your child before your child’s first day of enrolment. We acknowledge that all people are different and have individual needs; some may require a short settling in period while others may need more time to feel secure in their new surroundings. We will comfort your child and support them while they learn to trust and make friends. We have a few helpful tips about adjusting to pre-school which your teacher will share with you on your first day.

Food/Kai:

We do not supply meals as we believe a lunchbox environment helps in the transition to school. By the age of 5 your child will already be used to this routine and will have developed strong levels of independence and self help skills.

We encourage healthy lunchbox foods, along with water bottles available at all times.

Profile Books:

A profile book is kept for each child at the preschool. Profile books contain significant examples of documented assessments of the child’s learning and how this relates to the aspirations for children described in Te Whariki.

Communication:

We communicate regularly with our families. A newsletter provides updates on centre happenings and important dates. We have parent/whānau interviews and whole family events such as picnics, fish n chip evenings and our world famous (in Renwick) Christmas Party.
